Note | It has been stated that Thomas, Cyprian and Mary Stevens, who appeared early in the Massachussets Bay Colony, were the children of a Col. Thomas Stevens, of Devon. Recent investigatioin, in England, has proven this erroneous and unfortunately has not developed the parentage of the three. It is extremely probable that they came from Essex and not far from Bocking. |
