Note | Bernard F. O'Gorman, 82, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 9, 2006.??Vigil services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic?Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church with Monsignor?Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by?Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.??Mr. O'Gorman was born in Greeley, Neb. He entered the Army on Jan. 11, 1943,?and served in the European Theater during World War II with the 347th Corps?of Engineers. On June 18, 1944, he landed on Omaha Beach, 12 days after?D-Day. He earned Four Bronze Stars for action in Normandy, Northern France,?Rhineland, and Central Europe, including Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and?France. He returned to the states on Nov. 22, 1945, on the Wakefield with?6,000 fellow troops. He married Dorothy Harney in Borger on March 6, 1948.?He worked for 38 years at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. He was a member of?St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was an active mem!?ber of the Knights of Columbus for numerous years.??Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Lambright and husband,?Larry, of Lubbock and Debbie Davenport and husband, David, of Canyon; three?sisters, Betty Christian of Stinnett, Rosemary Gonzales of Hawthorne,?Calif., and Bobbye Crowley of Lubbock; a brother, Richard O'Gorman of?Stinnett; four grandchildren, Kristi Satterfield and husband, Bruce, of?Lubbock, Marc Lambright and wife, Amy, of Shallowater, Matt Davenport and?wife, Michelle, of Carthage and Cheslea Davenport of Canyon; and six?great-grandchildren.??The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, Regional?Office, 6605 W.
