Note

"Heart Throbs of the West"
On June 28, 1871, a daughter was born to Margaret El Lany and James Elijah Malin. they called her Annie. James Malin was a pioneer of 1852. His wife arrived here in September, 1847, at the age of four. Annie's grandfather was a survivor of the Haun's Mill massacre. Annie early became mindful of preserving biography, and history. After attending the community schools in the Valley she earned sufficient money, $42.00, to attend the 20th Ward School taught by Theodore B. Lewis. Her interest in books was satisfied through use of a circulating library run by Annie Chapman, who was a second mother to Annie. On February 19, 1904, annie married G. F. Baldwin. they became the parents of eitht children. She was a trained nurse from the Keogh-Hosmer hospital. She died December 10, 1935, in her sixty-fourth year.
