1870 Census New Jersey, Passaic, Acquackanonk Township. Living with her children Walter, Sophia, Emma and Minna. Also living with her is her sister-in-law Elizabeth Bremner and Elizabeth's daughter Elizabeth. No husbands in the household. However, there is a John Gillieton aged 86 years. Could he be Sophia's father or Elizabeth's father?

1900 Census New Jersey, Bergen, Rutherford Borough. Sophia G. ( perhaps Gilleton as mother-in-law to Henry Copeland, lawyer--husband to her daughter, Minnie. Sophie is 80 yrs old, born Mar 1820 and widowed. Although census says she is mother of only one child, she had more. It also says only one is living. She was born in New York as were her parents.
