| Note | Angelica Griep Hengemuehle emigrated in 1869. Angelica Griep (Abt 1836-1904 was the eldest child of Heinrich and Anna Marie Griep of Lastrup. She was also the first to get married and to emigrate. She married Heinrich Hengemuehle (1840-1905) in 1868 probably in Lastrup. When Heinrich Hengemuehle's father died in 1869, the entire Hengemuehle family sailed for America. The family group included Henry's wife and family, his mother Mary and his two brothers Anton and Hermann. When they reached America, the two brothers went to St. Louis, Missouri,while the rest of the family headed to Richmond, Stearns Co., MN. The next year Henry Hengemuehle and his family moved to nearby Hartford, Todd Co., Minnesota, where they stayed and raised a large family. His brother Herman joined them in 1872. |
