| Note | A general in the army. His petition for the restoration of the p;eerage honours was rejected by the House of Lords 1790; and, as he died unmmarried, the Abergeldie strain in the Drummonds died out. The family honours were restored in 1824, to his cousin, the great=grandfather of the present viscount Strathallan, who was born in 1871, and is heir-presumptive to the Earldom of Perth. |
