Some additional information which coroborates research is from John Greenley (son of Louise Ward, grandson of Grace Bamforth, great-grandson of Charles Henry. He adds that Mary Griffin instead of Griffith and that she said she "was Welsh." Chesire is pretty close to Wales, so that may be it, or maybe her family moved there from Wales. Alternate spelling: GRIFFIN.
