Note | M. A. of St. Andrews, 27 Jul, 1661. On 16 Jan 1668, Mr. Alexander (having been licensed 21st May, 1666, by George, Bishop of Edinburgh, after studying at St. Salvator’s College, St. Andrews) was ordained to the Parish of Creich. On 28 May 1682, he was translated to Kildrummy, but deposed by the Presbytery of Alford, 3 Apr 1717, for praying for trhe Pretender and joining the Jacobite rebels. He died, August 1717, aged about 76 yrs. A son, John, born to him by his wife Anna Gordon, Studied at Marischal College, 1706-1710, was Milne Bursar, 1707-1710 and took the degree of M.A. He was a Presbyter at Alloa, and was consecrated Non-Juring Bishop of Dunkeld, 9 Aug 1743. |
